Über den Autor und weitere Mitwirkende
Pam Jenoff is the author of several books of historical fiction, including the NYT bestseller The Orphan's Tale. She holds a degree in international affairs from George Washington University and a degree in history from Cambridge, and she received her JD from UPenn. Her novels are inspired by her experiences working at the Pentagon and as a diplomat for the State Department handling Holocaust issues in Poland. She lives with her husband and 3 children near Philadelphia, where she teaches law.

I have loved all of Jenoff's books, the ones I call a trilogy are my favorite, this one in the series should be read as #1, then Kommandant's Girl then Diplomat's wife to understand several of the characters that are featured in each book.
After reading The Lost Girls of Paris and loving it, I bought this. Pam Jenoff is an incredible author! Now I’ll have to read all of her books. The characters are so real, the situations so intense that I am haunted by her stories and can’t stop reading. And I think about the main character when I’m not reading. Almost everything in my life takes second fiddle when I’m immersed in her world. Thank you, Pam Jenoff!
What an amazing read, now a word of caution, read this book first BEFORE reading the Kommandants Girl, just trust me on this one, you will understand once you do. It will all fall into place. I read this book second unknowing to the connections, so it took me back in time, but I was still able to piece everything together and it was one heck of a roller coaster.
Another story of forbidden love during World War II--seems to be this writer
Truly enjoyed reading. It gives you some of the missing pieces from The Kommandant's Girl, I do hope she continues the story and we find out what happens in the 20 or so years between this book and The Kommandant's Girl.
